Creative inspiration comes from many places. The mind is a very much like a mine where one can uncover hidden gems if you dig deep enough. This idea grew out of my love of the mouse metaphor from Art Spiegelman's epic graphic novel Maus. I imagined a fictional cheese and mouse war on the American Continent during the late 19th century. Alexander Catson is one of the characters I dreamed up. The type is Copperplate Gothic and Bickham Script. The antique photograph is of a famous president that I got courtesy of the American Library of Congress.
